There are so many ways to tell a story

With my artwork, I approach each painting as a means to create visual narratives.

In my writing, I strive to find the people and stories behind the artists, makers, cultural organizations, and architecture in my community.

There is always something just below the surface, something bigger to find, something more to tell. My background in traditional studio arts (BFA, Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University) historic preservation, (MSHP, Art Institute of Chicago) and arts journalism, (MA, S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University) has helped me hone how I tell these stories.

I am co-host of the podcast “Bad Architecture,” freelance for local publications, and keep an active studio practice in Syracuse, New York.
